Hospice Services

How do I explain the complete security and peace that comes from the Hospice Organizations? No family today should have to suffer the pain and loss alone. They teach the family how to say good-bye. There is a correct way and a wrong way with making a loved one comfortable during their illness.

Back in 1990, the Yarmouth Hospice Organization in Yarmouth, Massachusetts taught the Gramm family how to help our father leave this world with dignity, the right way to keep him comfortable from his discomfort, and how to continue showing him complete love during our pain watching him grow weaker each day. He died being surrounded by his family.

I would like to give some Hospice web sites, although, I am aware most services are offered through the hospitals or doctors during the final stages of someone's life. They are worth logging onto, since people suffer from the reality of losing a loved one. These sites have answers to your questions. The answers may not be what we want to hear.

These sites listed below are wonderful for answering the questions that we might have.

The Hospice Foundation of America: www.hospicefoundation.org
This site covers topics such as; Locating Hospice in your State, Information, Grief & Loss, Videos, Books, E-letters, Clergy to Clergy, and much more.

Hospice Net: www.hospicenet.org
I love their saying, "From Your Hands to God's Arms." It says it all.
This site has multiple topics for information on how to say good-bye, their services, patients, children, caregiver, and bereavement.

Samaritan Hospice of Marlton, NJ.: www.samaritanhospice.org
It is a site for patients and families facing life-threatening illness. Accredited by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare and organizations, certified by Medicare & Medicaid.

Long Distance Caregiving - Visiting Angels
Long Distance Caregiving-Visting Angels

When it comes to your care there are so many choices?nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health agencies (nursing agencies), home care agencies and more. However, only you can choose what's right for you.

At Visiting Angels, we realize that it is never easy bringing someone into your home to provide care. So we strive to make staying at home a positive experience. We do this by allowing you to select your caregiver from a group of experienced caregiver, allowing you to maintain your schedule and providing you or your loved one with personalized care.

You Are In Charge? We're On Your Schedule
You are in charge of everything. Visiting Angels will not dictate to you what your schedule is to be (i.e. what time to get up, when to bathe, meal schedules etc.). It is our job to adjust to your schedule and to see to it that you remain comfortable in your own home. Visiting Angels - senior home care at its best!

Bonded, licensed and insured
All Visiting Angels senior home care agencies are bonded and insured. In states where licensing is required they have the required licenses as well. This gives you the peace of mind that a trustworthy caregiver will be in your loved one's home.

Monitoring is essential
Visiting Angels
home care agencies continuously monitor our caregiver through our unique system of continued personalized contacts through telephone check-in and home visits. We want to ensure that our care recipients are receiving the best possible care.

Tailor your care to your needs
No two people are the same. Therefore their needs are going to be very different. Whether you need respite care, in home care, part time or full time care or care at an assisted living facility, Visiting Angels has an experienced caregiver that is right for you. We tailor your program of care based on your needs and we are flexible to change the program as different needs arise. We will also work along with any home health agency or nursing agency that may be assisting your loved ones after a recent hospital stay.

In today's world, it is common for extended families and friends to be separated by great distances. New job opportunities force the adult children of families to move away from home. Often parents retire to resort communities to enjoy the warmer climates creating even greater distances between their loved ones. However, at some point in their lives, your parents, grandparents or a loved one will become unable to properly care for themselves. Suddenly you are faced with the challenge of long distance care giving.

Visiting Angels is the nation's most trusted name in long distance care giving and coast to coast care. Every day we assist families separated by distance arrange for compassionate care of their loved ones and peace of mind. With a simple phone call to our National Headquarters, we can put you in contact with a Visiting Angels office local to your loved one.

Your local Visiting Angels office will meet with your loved one and with our Select caregiver program arrange to introduce a qualified caregiver.
