How do I explain the complete security and peace that comes from the Hospice Organizations? No family today should have to suffer the pain and loss alone. They teach the family how to say good-bye. There is a correct way and a wrong way with making a loved one comfortable during their illness.
Back in 1990, the Yarmouth Hospice Organization in Yarmouth, Massachusetts taught the Gramm family how to help our father leave this world with dignity, the right way to keep him comfortable from his discomfort, and how to continue showing him complete love during our pain watching him grow weaker each day. He died being surrounded by his family.
I would like to give some Hospice web sites, although, I am aware most services are offered through the hospitals or doctors during the final stages of someone's life. They are worth logging onto, since most people suffer from the reality of losing a loved one, to ask questions. The answers are not want we want to hear.
These sites listed below are wonderful for answering the questions that we might have.
The Hospice Foundation of America: www.hospicefoundation.org
This site covers topics such as; Locating Hospice in your State, Information, Grief & Loss, Videos, Books, E-letters, Clery to Clery, and much more.
Hospice Net: www.hospicenet.org
I love their saying, "From Your Hands to God's Arms." It says it all.
This site has multiple topics for information on how to say good-bye, their services, patients, children, caregiver, and bereavement.
Samaritan Hospice of Marlton, NJ.: www.samaritanhospice.org
It is a site for patients and families facing life-threatening illness. Accredited by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare and organizations, certified by Medicare & Medicaid.
